more books: a very Gatsby book haul

Recently I finished reading F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic novel The Great Gatsby with my American Literature class, and I absolutely loved it!! (Don’t worry, a review will be coming soon!) In fact, I loved it so much that I felt the need to buy my own copy of it, which led me to some other purchases.

Classic Works by F. Scott Fitzgerald

This book doesn’t really have anything to do with my recently developed Gatsby obsession, but I needed it for my AP United States History class so I ordered it. It’s about the state that America was in during the 1890s, which was a sort of transitional period that followed the settlement of the Frontier. It’s not my favorite period in American history, and I really hope that this book isn’t bland and awful to get through.

My next two purchases are far more exciting. The first is a simple copy of The Great Gatsby, which has a gorgeous cover that I completely adore. It’s the same edition of the copy that I initially read from my school’s library, and I just love the bright colors and the font and the face. Beside it is a monster of a book that is actually a collection of classic works from F. Scott Fitzgerald. It includes two novels and nineteen short stories, so that will definitely keep me busy for a while. And just look at the size of it! It’s HUGE!!

I’m really looking forward to cracking open my historical reads, and that means that they’ll be reviews coming soon! What books have you bought or checked out from the library lately? What are your favorite works by F. Scott Fitzgerald? Let me know in the comments section below!

  1. Ooooh! That classics works collection is absolutely gorgeous! My problem with big books though is that I’m usually reading when I’m out, so that’d be a hefty thing to carry around. Hope you’ll enjoy it though. Happy reading! 😀

  2. Loving your F. Scott Fitzgerald enthusiasm and lovely pics! I’m a bit jealous that you got hold of the traditionally iconic front cover, in retrospect I wish I had gotten that version. Ah well, I will have to stay on the lookout for it. 🙂

I hope you enjoy all your new books!
