voracious reading.

Lately I’ve been on a major reading spree.

This isn’t abnormal for me, at least not during the summer or when I’m on vacation. No school usually results in frequent library visits, late nights, and hours of reading. I’ll pick up a book as soon as I finish another, before I even have a chance to fully digest what I recently completed. It’s a whirlwind of words and characters and stories and emotions, and I love every moment of it.

But this doesn’t normally happen during the school year. Usually I’m so bogged down with homework and work and meetings and lessons that reading, unfortunately, gets pushed to the wayside. Lately, however, I’ve found that if you really want to do something you’ll find time to do it no matter what. So I’ve been reading on the bus to school in the morning, whenever I get to a class early, at night when I should definitely probably be sleeping- basically whenever I have any downtime whatsoever. And I’ve gotten so much reading done!

I’ve often wondered why I experience such fluctuations in how much reading I accomplish. Sometimes I don’t feel like reading at all, and other times (like presently) I can’t seem to stop. Do any of you experience this? Have you been getting a lot of reading done lately? Let me know in the comments section below!

Yours,

HOLLY

  1. Sadly I haven’t been getting a lot of reading down. Between work, school and trying to keep up with blogging finding time for reading has been difficult. But I’ve been trying audio books for when I’m on the go and I’ve really found them helpful. Great post Holly! 🙂

    1. For some reason, I don’t quite feel like I enjoy books as much when I listen to them. But they are really convenient, so I think I might have to give them another go. Thanks for commenting!:)

  2. I was actually just thinking lately how sad I was because I haven’t had much time to read lately, and when I did I couldn’t get into any books! UNTIL I picked up The Goldfinch two or three days ago, and I’m already almost three hundred pages into it. I absolutely cannot put it down!

    1. I’m reading the Goldfinch right now, too! It has really surprised me, because for a book so long it’s keeping me engaged and interested for a large majority of the time. Thanks for reading! 🙂
