WWW Wednesdays: April 9th

WWW WednesdaysWWW Wednesdays is a meme hosted by Should Be Reading that asks three questions:

What are you currently reading???

It’s a funny story, actually.

So you know how last week I had you guys vote on which book I should read next, and the winner was And We Stay by Jenny Hubbard? Well, I was so excited when I went to my school library on Monday morning to check it out, only to find that SOMEONE ELSE HAD ALREADY CHECKED IT OUT BEFORE ME. One cannot possibly understand the anger I felt in that moment. 🙂

Alas, I have resorted to reading a different book on my TBR list: Being Henry David by Cal Armistead. I am also reading Anthem by Ayn Rand.

What did you recently finish reading???

Over the weekend I finished reading The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt. If you have not read this yet, I highly recommend that you do so. Tartt is such a spectacular writer and storyteller, and although it was nearly 800 pages long I could not put this book down!

Just yesterday I finished reading The Crucible by Arthur Miller for my American Literature class. Despite the fact that I think the Salem Witch Trials are an absolutely fascinating time in American history, I could not get into this story. It might be because it is a play and I normally only read regular books. It also might be because of the many historical inaccuracies that I found very hard to ignore as I was reading. Nevertheless, I did not enjoy it as much as I initially expected I would.

What do you think you’ll read next???

As soon as And We Stay is returned to the library, I am definitely reading it! I would also like to read John Corey Whaley’s newest novel, Noggin, which was released on April 8th of this year (yesterday!!).

What are your answers to these questions? Let me know in the comments section below!
