QUOTE: Jack Kerouac

“What is that feeling when you’re driving away from people and they recede on the plain till you see their specks dispersing?- it’s the too-huge world vaulting us, and it’s good-by. But we lean forward to the next crazy venture beneath the skies.” ~ On the Road by Jack Kerouac, page 156

I like this quote because it’s a familiar feeling, when you look back at a place as you leave it. Or it’s familiar to me, at least. Kerouac explains it in a way that makes sense, which is hard to do when you’re describing abstract feelings or emotions.
