I’M FREE!

Today was my last day of school for the year, which means that SUMMER HAS BEGUN. Looking back, it feels like this year just flew by. I can’t believe that I’ll be a senior in high school next year! I still remember walking into school on my first day of ninth grade, feeling like graduation would never come.

I’m going to be extremely busy this summer, with working at the library and completing all my assignments for my AP classes. I’ll be starting AP English, AP Calculus, and AP Government in the fall, which comes with a mountain of summer work to do. However, I will do my best to update this blog regularly and keep up with my reading.

This summer I hope to read at least 20 books. Ten of these will be ones on my Summer TBR List, which is composed of books from my bookshelf that have been sitting there for ages. Two of them are required summer reading for my AP English class: A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving and A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens. The rest will be books of my choice. I have a few books in mind that I want to read besides all of these, but for the most part I’m keeping the rest pretty open.

I’m also looking forward to catching up on Doctor Who (I still need to watch season 7!) and watching some movies that I’ve been meaning to see for a while. Life is so chaotic during the school year that I don’t usually have time to watch a lot of TV and movies, so I’m using this summer as a time to get all caught up.

For me, this summer will be a balancing act between having fun and relaxing and completing the things I need to get done for school. What are your plans for the summer? What books do you want to read? What fun things will you be doing? Let me know in the comments section below!

Yours,

HOLLY
