more books: and the fun begins

Hello, everyone!

July is now underway, which means it’s peak time for summer homework! I am taking AP English this upcoming school year, which means I’ll be doing lots of assigned reading from now on. This summer I was assigned to read two books, which isn’t too bad. Of course, I couldn’t resist ordering my own copies of them. 🙂

A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving. This is one of the books I’ve been assigned to read over the summer. I’ve actually already finished it, and I absolutely LOVED it!!! A review will be posted early next week.

A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens. This is the other book I’ve been assigned to read over the summer. I’m planning to start this one at the end of July, after I finish writing all of the essays that have to do with A Prayer for Owen Meany. I ordered this beautiful Penguin copy online, and it was so worth it! It’s always more enjoyable to read a book if the copy is nice.

City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare. Obviously, this one wasn’t assigned to me. But I couldn’t resist ordering it online when I was shopping for the other two books. I saw a great price for a paperback edition, and I just had to buy it! This book is HUGE,  and I’m SO excited to read it! I’ve heard great things about it, so I’m sure I’ll love it.

What books have you bought/received/checked out from the library recently? Have you read any of the books I’ve mentioned? What were your thoughts on them? Let me know in the comments section below!
