more books: beach reads

Surprise, surprise: I’ve bought more books! This time, my little shopping spree has been focused on books I can read at the beach.

The Summer I Turned Pretty, It’s Not Summer Without You, and We’ll Always Have Summer by Jenny Han. I’ve heard so many fantastic things about this trilogy that I just had to pick it up when I saw it for a great price. It seems to fit the definition of a beach read perfectly, so I’ll definitely be diving into this series while lounging by the waves!

Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns) by Mindy Kaling. I am a HUGE fan of the television show The Office, on which Mindy Kaling had a hilarious role. When I saw this book while shopping at Target I immediately knew that I had to buy it. It seems like a quick, funny read, which is ideal for a day at the beach.

The Rook by Daniel O’Malley. I discovered this book in an awesome local indie bookstore and I was intrigued as soon as I started reading the blurb on the back cover. I’ve never heard of this book before, but it sounds like an enthralling mix of suspense, mystery, fantasy, and contemporary fiction. This book definitely looks like it will keep me engaged even through the many distractions commonly found on the beach.

What books have you acquired recently? Have you read any of the books I recently bought? What did you think of them? Let me know in the comments section below!

Yours,

HOLLY
