Hello, everyone! It’s time for another Top Ten Tuesday, a weekly bookish meme hosted by the lovely blog The Broke and the Bookish. This week the theme is Top Ten Books I Really Want to Read But Don’t Own Yet. I don’t buy every book I read, so I took this theme to mean books that I just really want to read in general that I also don’t own. So, in no particular order:
1. And We Stay by Jenny Hubbard.
Ever since reading Jenny Hubbard’s novel Paper Cover Rock (review here) I have been on the lookout for another one of her books. She finally released one a little while ago, but I just haven’t gotten around to reading it. It sounds really intriguing, though, and it’s been in the back of my mind ever since I first realized it was published.
2. The Dream Thieves by Maggie Stiefvater.
This book is the sequel to The Raven Boys (review here), which was such a great fantasy/contemporary novel. I believe that the next book in this trilogy is being released in a few months (correct me if I’m wrong), so I definitely need to read this one soon!
3. The Geography of You and Me by Jennifer E. Smith.
I’ve read two other books by Jennifer E. Smith, and I absolutely loved them both. Her stories are always so unique and adorable! This one seems like it is no exception. It’s not often that you find a YA contemporary novel about a long distance relationship (at least, I don’t think I’ve ever read one) and I can’t wait to see how she approaches this topic.
4. Finnikin of the Rock by Melina Marchetta.
Melina Marchetta’s contemporary YA novel Jellicoe Road is one of my favorite books of all time. I think it would be really interesting to see how she is at writing fantasy novels such as this one. I have no doubt that her amazing writing and story telling skills will carry over into this other genre!
5. Rebel Belle by Rachel Hawkins.
I have heard so many great things about this book from book bloggers and booktubers alike. After reading the synopsis of it, I realized that I haven’t read many books set in the south. I have read some, but the majority of the YA fiction I read tends to be set in New England for some reason. Rebel Belle seems like such a fun, action-packed book that I just have to get my hands on it soon. Plus, the cover is GORGEOUS.
6. Solitaire by Alice Oseman.
Although it hasn’t been released in the United States yet, this book has been getting quite the buzz over in the UK. It was written by a teenager, and I follow her on Tumblr and she seems like such a great person! The premise of this book sounds really interesting. I’m going to have to find a way to get this book before it comes out in the US, because I definitely can’t wait that long!
7. Let’s Get Lost by Adi Alsaid.
I’ve been hearing a lot about this book recently in the book blogging world, so I finally took the time to read the synopsis. It sounds SO GOOD. The vibe is mysterious, emotional, heart-wrenching and thought-provoking. Just my type of book!
8. Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins.
I read and LOVED Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins (review here) and I’ve been meaning to read this companion/sequel ever since then. Everyone seems to love it as much or even more than the first one, which can only be a good sign! And there’s also the fact that the third book in this series is currently being released- man, I need to catch up!
9. The Opposite of Loneliness: Essays and Stories by Marina Keegan.
Last month I read Mindy Kaling’s book Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns), and ever since then I’ve had the urge to read more memoirs and nonfiction books. I’ve never read a book of essays, and this one seems like it has a really interesting story behind it.
10. Sinner by Maggie Stiefvater.
Another novel by Maggie Stiefvater! I loved the Wolves of Mercy Falls trilogy when I read it in middle school, so I was incredibly excited when I discovered that she was writing another book with some of the same characters. Although I would have liked it to be about Sam and Grace instead, I’m still looking forward to reading about Cole and Isabel.
Well, there you have it! Have you read any of these books? What did you think of them? What books do you really want to read but have yet to buy? Let me know in the comments section below!
Yours,
HOLLY
Dare I say that The Dream Thieves is even better than The Raven Boys? At any rate, it’s a sequel that doesn’t suck. (I usually avoid series because they tend to go down hill, but I cannotbloodywait for the third installment of those.) Hope you get to read it soon!

I’m so glad to hear that the series gets better, especially since it was so good to begin with. Thanks for commenting! 🙂

I’ve only read one of these (The Geography of You and Me). I reviewed it on my blog. It is sweet, and fluffy and a great little pick-me-up read. I was definitely in the mood for it when I read it (it pulled me out of a slump). I basically either plan to read the rest of your list, or you’ve just introduced me to another couple of reads that I’m about to add to my list. TTT ruins me lol

I love Dream Thieves. I love The Raven Boys. I love Gansey. Can you tell I’m enthusiastic about this series? I have plans for the book release in October that includes shunning the world and falling back into this lovely world Maggie Stiefvater has created.

Solitaire seems like a pretty cool self-aware YA contemporary that I wouldn’t mind reading into. And the author makes me feel ancient ahhh. I hope you enjoy reading it once it gets released in NA (I’ve only seen it online as well and not in store–in Canada!)
Cheers,

Solitaire does sound really interesting! I’ll probably end up waiting until it’s released here in NA, or I could possibly by it online somewhere… we’ll have to see! Thanks for commenting! 🙂

You definitely have to read The Dream Thieves! It was even better than The Raven Boys, so I absolutely cannot wait until October when Blue Lily, Lily Blue is released.
Solitaire is on my must-read list as well. You could always order it from The Book Depository (which is my plan, if it isn’t released in Canada anytime soon). Happy reading! 🙂

I’ve only ever read one novel by Jenny Hubbard (Paper Covers Rock) but it was really good!! She tends to tie in classic works into her stories, which I think is really intriguing. For example in the novel of hers that I read she referenced to Moby Dick a lot. It’s a little confusing if you haven’t read the work she mentions because you miss a lot of the extra meaning, but it’s still definitely doable. Thanks for commenting! 🙂

The Opposite of Loneliness is amazing! It’s a little heavier than Mindy’s books with what she writes about, but beautiful!

I just finished The Opposite of Loneliness the other day (like right after this post went up! haha) and I really enjoyed it! Her work is brilliant to begin with but even more meaningful due to her tragic story. Thanks for commenting! 🙂
