“I met an old lady once, almost a hundred years old, and she told me, ‘There are only two questions that human beings have ever fought over, all through history. How much do you love me? And Who’s in charge?” ~ Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert
When I read this quote in Eat, Pray, Love I couldn’t believe how true it actually was. When you think about it, most conflicts in history actually can be boiled down to either one (or maybe even both) of those two questions. I always find patterns in history like this one fascinating!
