my unread books (1).

Over the past few months I have accumulated a concerning number of books, few of which I have actually got around to reading. Coupled with the many small towers of unread books I already owned, this recent surge has proved quite problematic for a number of reasons.

Reason number one: I am starting to feel that strangely stressful sensation of having too many books to read and not enough time in which to read them all. Of course, my TBR list is always a million miles long (or kilometers long, for you sensible people who use the metric system), but seeing those piles and piles of physical books every day makes the feeling of being overwhelmed somehow tangible.

Reason number two: I just don’t have enough room for them all!!!

To try and tackle this problem of mine, I’m going to start periodically keeping tabs on how many books I have read from the stacks that I own. Perhaps I’ll do this every month, or every other month, or every season… I haven’t really decided yet. But what I do know is that I’m starting now!

The number of unread books I currently own is as follows:

33 physical books.

8 ebooks.

Can I get these numbers down significantly before I am overtaken by my mountains of unread books? We shall see!

Wish me luck!

Yours,

HOLLY

  1. Oh dear, good luck on trimming your TBR list, Holly! I totally agree with your first reason – looking at my TBR list stresses me out too. Occasionally, I procrastinate by trying to organize my unread books, but I barely make a dent… sigh. I’m still too scared to actually count my unread books though, since I don’t want to admit that I have a problem haha. 😛

    1. Haha, I get what you mean- sometimes ignorance really is bliss! I feel bad about all these unread books, though, so hopefully I can get around to reading them soon. Thanks for commenting! 🙂
