top ten tuesday: new-to-me authors I read in 2014

top ten tuesdayHello my lovely readers! Welcome to another Top Ten Tuesday, a meme hosted by the wonderful blog The Broke and the Bookish. This week the theme is Top Ten New-To-Me Authors I Read in 2014. Looking back, I’m actually really pleased with the fact that I read books by a lot of authors I had never read from before. Usually I tend to stick with the same writers, but it was nice to branch out a bit and do some exploring! So, in no particular order:

1. Toni Morrison

2. Elizabeth Gilbert

3. George Orwell

4. Daniel O’Malley

5. Patrick Ness

6. Donna Tartt

7. F. Scott Fitzgerald

8. Ransom Riggs

9. Margaret Peterson Haddix

10. John Irving

What great new authors did you discover in 2014? Let me know in the comments section below!

    1. I feel the same way! I’ve only read More Than This by him, and I really want to read A Monster Calls and the Chaos Walking Trilogy. Thanks for commenting! 🙂

      1. OH MY GOSH. TELL ME ABOUT IT. I love them both! Beloved…it’s not even a book you know? It transcends being a “book” – it’s a lot more than that! Ness is such an intelligent writer I was just gobsmacked. Brilliant.
