more books: Christmas!

Christmas has come and gone yet again, but I’m happy to say that I received some fabulous books from good ol’ Saint Nick. Let’s get started, shall we?

The Penguin English Library classics are just SO gorgeous- I’m so happy that I can finally start expanding my collection of them. I recently went through and cleaned out my bookshelves, so I have more space to display them now. I’m also really excited to read the Doctor Who books, since the first one in the series- Ten Little Aliens by Stephen Cole– was AMAZING. Hopefully these will be just as good, if not better!

I was also given this adorable tart burner for my bedroom- it fits perfectly on my windowsill!

Did you receive any books for Christmas? Or maybe you treated yourself during the holiday season and went on a little shopping spree? 🙂 Let me know all about it in the comments section below!

  2. Aw, the owl tart burner (I was going to call it a lamp, which it isn’t) is adorable – such a nice blue-green colour to it too!
The Penguin Classics are indeed spectacular (have you read The Picture of Dorian Gray? It looks brilliant) but I’m eager for your thoughts on the Doctor Who book (they’re getting popular now aren’t they?)!

    1. I love the color as well- you can probably tell, since it’s sort of the color of my blog now and it’s actually the color of my bedroom walls too. 🙂

I read the Picture of Dorian Gray early this year? Late last year? Sometime around then. I loved it! It was so unique compared to a lot of the classics I’ve read, probably because of the supernatural-ish elements it had with the picture and everything.

I have a book or two lined up to read next, but then I’ll definitely be getting to the Doctor Who books- I can never get enough Doctor Who, and I’m glad that more people are becoming Whovians. The more fangirls (and guys) the better! 🙂

  3. Gorgeous, gorgeous books! Very nice! I got a few books too! Moriarty by Anthony Horowitz was one of them! I also got a book voucher that I haven’t spent yet. Well, I have in my head!
Hope your holiday was awesome 🙂

    1. Moriarty looks SO GOOD. I’m jealous 🙂
Book vouchers are the best- so many choices! And it also gives me a guilt-free excuse to take a trip to the bookstore, which I am always in the mood for. The only problem is that there are so many books that I often have a hard time choosing which one to buy, which usually leads to me walking out with quite a large stack of novels. haha, oh well!
I hope you had a great holiday as well! 🙂

      1. I have the same problem! Except i usually have a list to go off and if the store doesn’t have the books on that list, I usually walk out. I’m going for a second attempt today!
I’ll let you know how Moriarty turns out!
        Happy New Year!!!
