Welcome to January Favorites, a new monthly feature in which I highlight some of my favorite things from the month!
Oatmeal Cookies: It snowed SO MUCH in January (we basically have over two feet of snow!) and consequently we’ve been stuck inside quite a bit. My mom baked oatmeal cookies on our first snow day, and OH MY GOODNESS ARE THEY GOOD. They’re chewy and buttery and raisin-y…. I don’t think that’s a real word. But you know what I mean! I love them so much! ❤
MacBook Pro: Earlier this month I purchased my very first Macbook Pro, and I adore it more than words can explain. It’s fast, clear, and oh-so-pretty. This was a great choice for a laptop to bring to college in the fall.
Cozy Winter Hats: My parking spot is pretty far away from my school, and it seems like an even longer walk in the bitter cold wind bright and early at 6:30 in the morning! I bundle up like crazy, but lately I’ve been having fun with wearing lovely winter hats. I’ve accumulated quite a varied collection over the years, and this year I’ve finally got around to wearing most of them.
The Guardians of the Galaxy Soundtrack: I’ve been listening to this soundtrack basically nonstop since I first saw the movie weeks ago, and I’m still not tired of it! It’s a great mix of oldies tunes (mostly from the 70s) that are fun, quirky, and irresistibly catchy. I even burned the album to a CD so I can sing along as I drive to school and work. My favorite songs on it are “Hooked on a Feeling” by Blue Swede, “I Want You Back” by the Jackson 5, and “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell. I highly recommend both the movie and the soundtrack! They’re awesome!
