In Which I Confess My Obsession With LOST

TROPICAL

So here’s how it all started:

One day a few weeks ago it was really nice out, so a lot of seniors in my school decided to skip and go to the beach or just enjoy the day. Only eight people out of around twenty were actually in my AP Government class, so it was pointless for my teacher to try to teach us anything because he would have to repeat everything the next day. Instead, he said, “Why don’t we watch something on Netflix?” Eventually it was decided that we would watch the first episode of Lost, since it was entertaining while still being appropriate enough to project on the whiteboard of a high school classroom. We watched the first episode, and then the bell rang and we had to move on to our next class.

I’ve been hooked ever since.

I’m only about half way through the first season, but I seriously cannot stop thinking about it. THERE ARE SO MANY CLIFFHANGERS. Each episode ends with such a suspenseful ending, so I naturally want to keep watching until hours have passed and I’m like, “I shouldΒ probablyΒ be somewhat productive today…”

Lost

Not only is it the fact that they’re stuck on this mysterious island and haven’t been rescued, but it’s also the mystery behind all of their histories and backstories. I love when it flashes back to their pasts in short snippets and you gradually learn bits and pieces of their lives. Whenever I think I have a character figured out, it flashes back to their past and I’m completely proven wrong. (EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.) All of the characters are so complex, and I can already tell that there’s going to be some awesome character development and dynamics as the series progresses!

My mom and brother have already watched and finished the entire show, so whenever I’m watching it and they’re around I’m like DO NOT TELL ME ANYTHING. I’m so terrified of hearing spoilers. I wanted to include a GIF in this post, but I was afraid that if I looked up “Lost” on Tumblr or Google I would stumble across something that would ruin the ending. I want it to be a complete surprise!

Are any of you watching Lost, or have you watched it in the past? Feel free to discuss it in the comments section below, but PLEASE: NO SPOILERS!

  1. I started watching this show YEARS ago when it first came out. It was all anyone talked about and my whole family were hooked. I could be wrong, but I think originally it was supposed to be a much shorter show, but when it took off the producers milked it and made it 9 (10?) seasons long. I think I watched up until season 3 ish before we all lost interest… pardon the pun. I have always wanted to revisit it at some point and watch the whole thing, even if I do already know how it ends lol R x

    1. Yeah, my mom and brother watched it and said that after the third season it gets a little wacky, but for right now I’m really enjoying it. That sucks that you already know how it ends! I’ve been trying to avoid spoilers like the plague but I have a feeling it will happen eventually haha πŸ™‚

  2. I used to be crazy about Lost a few years ago but now I don’t remember much of it. I remember I watched it on tv it was PAINFUL to wait for the upcoming episode, and I haven’t even mentioned the next season, yet. I ended up giving up in it, because there was a time where I think more than a year passed between two season (Hungarian television sucks) and I barely remembered anything from the previous season so it was all so confusing. Anyways, I’m glad you’re enjoying it. πŸ™‚

    1. Oh my goodness I totally get what you’re talking about- the end of each episode is SO suspenseful!!! If I weren’t watching it on Netflix I think I would go insane waiting for each episode haha πŸ™‚ Thanks so much for stopping by!

  3. So glad you’re enjoying it the first couple of seasons are fantastic. I started binge watching it at the start of the year and made it to season 5. I started losing interest and they removed it from demand so I’ve not been able to see how it ends (yet). Each episode gives you more questions and it is really good – even if there are those odd annoying unanswered questions πŸ™‚ I am loving following you on twitter and hearing your reactions. I’ll be following along with your commentary until you reach season 5 (don’t want to go past that and see spoilers I’ve magically been able to avoid) πŸ™‚

  4. I really loved Lost when it was on TV, but over here they stopped showing it after series 3 if you didn’t have sky (which I don’t). I’ve managed to watch up to series 5 on DVD, and it did get a little stupid, I still want to see the end but I’m not willing to pay for it, and it’s not on netflix over here either
