Top Ten Tuesday: Auto-Read Authors

Top Ten Tue

We all have those select authors whom we trust to write fantastic books, so much so that we’ll read practically anything they write. Most of the time this works out great (we trust them for a reason!) although occasionally it can lead unrealistically high expectations and consequential disappointment. Either way, I’m sure that many of us bookish folks can relate to the idea of auto-buy authors.

In this week’s installment of The Broke and the Bookish’s Top Ten Tuesday, I’ll be putting a little twist on the topic. Since I try to limit the number of books I actually buy rather than borrow, this list will instead focus on my auto-read authors. These are the authors who, when they write a book, will instantly find their way onto my TBR list. In no particular order, here are my Top Ten Auto-Read Authors!

  1. I’ve been meaning to read Rainbow Rowell and Patrick Ness for a while now. I have a few of their books on my TBR, so hopefully I’ll get round to them soon! Great post 🙂

    1. I really need to read The Knife of Never Letting Go soon! Those books are really long, though, and I just haven’t had the time to make my way through them. I hope you enjoy them whenever you get around to reading them! 🙂

  2. Can’t blame you for listing Melina Marchetta, she’s just wonderful. And V.E. Schwab will probably make my list at some point, I still need to read Vicious which I saw you reviewed but I’m avoiding everything about it so I can go in with completely fresh eyes.

    1. That’s what I did, and it definitely paid off! I didn’t want to be spoiled for anything about Vicious so I avoided it like the plague online. It’s so worth it! Happy reading! 🙂

  3. I have John Green, Rainbow Rowell, and Patrick Ness on my list too! I debated for ages about putting JKR on there, but I didn’t like The Casual Vacancy and I’m in no hurry to read her other adult titles, so I decided I couldn’t rightfully put her on my list. Great list!

    1. I actually haven’t read any of her books besides Harry Potter- I’m such a bad fan! I’ve heard mixed things about them, but I definitely want to give them a try nevertheless. Thanks! 🙂
