Thoughts on the Eve of College Move In Day

autumn moments

THE FATEFUL DAY IS FINALLY UPON US. Tomorrow is my first college move in day ever!!

I am a jumbled mix of emotions at the moment. Here’s a brief tour of my mind:

  • I AM SO EXCITED! I’ve been waiting for college for eons, and now it’s finally here!! I absolutely love Wheaton so far, and I can’t wait to officially start!
  • I AM TERRIFIED. What if I don’t make friends? What if my classes are too hard? What if I get homesick? AHHH!
  • I can’t believe it’s actually happening! College is something I’ve been looking forward to for years. I first started researching colleges back when I was a freshman in high school. A FRESHMAN. Now that it’s actually happening, it’s sort of hard to belief. It still doesn’t feel real, and I don’t think it will until my classes begin and I’ve been there for a week or two.

Even though the first few days will probably be awkward and stressful, I think that I’ll end up really liking college and all the adventures it brings. It will be a big change, but a worthwhile and valuable one!

As far as this blog goes, I’m planning on continuing on as I usually do. I’ve been scheduling posts like crazy this summer so I have the bulk of my September posts already waiting in the wings. Once my stock of scheduled posts runs out, however, I may have to scale back on the number of times a week I post. Right now I normally post five times a week, but that might have to be reduced to three times eventually. But for now, have no fear! Nut Free Nerd will still be running as per usual!

For those of you who are new to my blog or haven’t read my college posts, I’ll be attending Wheaton College in Norton, MA. I fell in love with Wheaton on my first visit to the campus, and I am beyond thrilled to be going there! My plan right now is to try to double major in English and Spanish, but we’ll see how that goes!

Tomorrow a new chapter begins for me, and I am determined to make it one well worth reading. Wish me luck!

  1. I felt the same way this summer when I was moving into dorms for my pre-college program! But seriously, you’ll meet people and if your experience is anything like mine was, people will be super nice and you’ll have a blast! Best of luck with everything, Holly!! 🙂 ❤

  2. Same here… and the worst part for me is that I’m actually moving different countries and even to a different continent! So yeah it was quite scary at first but it’s still super exciting 😀
