“It happened on the Jellicoe Road. The prettiest road I’d ever seen, where trees made breezy canopies like a tunnel to Shangri-La.” ~ Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta
I absolutely adore this quote. It appears both at the beginning and end of Melina Marchetta’s novel Jellicoe Road, and it never fails to give me a feeling of peace. I just imagine a beautiful road line with tall trees whose leaves shine in the sun. Who wouldn’t want to live near such a road?
