Climbing the Misty Mountains // Wreck This Journal 8

Wreck This JournalFollow me as I adventure through my copy of Wreck This Journal by Keri SmithClick here to see my other completed pages!Suspense-13The instructions on this page read: Climb up high. Drop the journal. I knew that I didn’t want to actually drop the journal from any significant height, so I had to get creative.

Inspiration for this page struck me when I listened to the song “Misty Mountains” from The Hobbit movie soundtrack. I’ve been trying to think of an idea for this page for ages, and I was so happy when I finally had the idea to do a Hobbit theme.

I drew the drawing of Smaug on the left page by hand without tracing anything, but I based it off of this book cover:

I’m really pleased with how these pages turned out! My drawing skills are terrible, so the fact that I was able to draw something that kind of resembles Smaug is really surprising. I’m glad I was able to incorporate some of my love for The Hobbit and LOTR into this journal!

Have you ever worked on a Wreck This Journal? How would you have decorated this page? Let me know in the comments section below!

Yours,

HOLLY

  2. Loved this twist on the idea. I don’t think I could drop any book from a high height.
