Top Ten Tuesday: Underrated Books on Goodreads

Top Ten Tuesday_-25

Happy Tuesday! This week’s Top Ten Tuesday topic is an interesting and important one: Underrated Books on Goodreads. At times it feels as though the only books that ever get to spend time in the spotlight are those with tens of thousands of ratings on Goodreads; however, there are plenty of fantastic books that have less that 2,000 ratings. While making this list I was surprised to discover just how many of these books I’ve read and enjoyed immensely, which sparks the question: Why aren’t they more widely known? Here are ten books with less than 2,000 ratings on Goodreads that I would highly recommend:

    1. The Doctor Who book was SO GOOD. It was incredibly suspenseful and it even has a part that reminded me of the Choose Your Own Adventure books that I used to read when I was younger. I highly recommend it! 🙂

    1. This is actually the only work by Thomas Hardy that I ever read… it was assigned for one of my classes two semesters ago, so I had to read it. I should really get around to reading more of his stuff soon!

  1. I haven’t read any of these but your design layout is awesome and gives me serious envy! Just Don’t Fall also looks fantastic and I will definitely have to check that one out soon!

  2. I use goodreads, but to be honest, I never look at the ratings. Just because ten thousand people liked the book doesn’t make it good. And conversely just because the target audience of a fantastic book may not use Goodreads doesn’t make it any less excellent.

  3. Exploring and stumbled upon this. I like to see what people are reading. I think it helps when buying books as gifts, but don’t care to buy the obvious choice. I think a good gift is one that a person wouldn’t have been able to enjoy without you. 🙂 Who am I kidding? I always buy book I want to read as gifts for others. Thanks! Interesting list.
