Top Ten Tuesday: My Mom’s Favorite Books

Happy Tuesday!! In the spirit of the Mother’s Day season, this week’s Top Ten Tuesday theme is all about MOMS. Mothers are the real MVPs– I, for one, don’t know how I would have made it to this point in my life without mine. In honor of Mother’s Day I decided to have a little fun with this list by asking my mom to the best books she’s ever read. Without further ado, here areΒ My Mom’s Top Ten Favorite Books!!!

What do you think of the books on this list? What are some of your mom’s favorite books? Do you celebrate Mother’s Day? Have any fun traditions? Let me know in the comments section below!

Yours,

HOLLY

P.S. Shout out to my mom for actually doing this. You’re the best ❀

    1. I had to ask my mom for a list of her top ten favorites– I suspected that there would be a lot of Stephen King on their, but Into the Wild and The Outsiders surprised me! πŸ™‚

  1. I know what books my mother used to like as a child, but maybe not her favourites? I’ll have to ask her. Right now she’s reading The Hobbit to my little sister and it’s hilarious because she’s forgotten the entire plot so it’s like she’s reading it for the first time. Also I totally forgot about Mother’s day and did nothing for my mother 😦

    1. Oh no! Everyone forgets a holiday now and then, though. My mom is the same way with movies and TV shows. Right now we’re watching the show Twin Peaks together, which my mom first watched when it was released in the 90s, but there are episodes that she doesn’t remember at all. πŸ™‚

  2. It’s such a nice idea to get your mum involved and she seems to have such good taste in books! My mum doesn’t read that much so I doubt I could do this post in the same way, but it was also Mother’s Day in the UK back in March, so if I should probably have done it back then! Great post Holly!

  3. I was wondering why your posts never showed up in my reader but turns out I wasn’t following you??? Which is weird because I clearly remember clicking the follow button πŸ˜›

Anyway, this was a great list! I’ll have to suggest some of these books to my mum!

    1. haha She’s certainly a fan of creepy thrillers! πŸ™‚ I’ve read some of her favorites, but I can only read them every once in a while because they creep me out too much. (The Outsiders and Into the Wild are great though.)

  4. I love this idea, Holly! I did this at my place when I saw yours. I didn’t ask my mom for her favorites though — I just guessed, but she later confirmed I picked her favorites when I surprised her with the post, ha ha! I want to read all of the Stephen King books on this list, as well as Into the Wild. I think both our mothers like that Agatha Christie title. πŸ™‚

    1. Wow, that’s impressive that you could guess her favorites! I suspected that there would be a lot of Stephen King on my mom’s list, but I definitely had to ask her for specific titles. I was surprised (and so happy!) to find that Into the Wild made it onto her list– it’s such a great read! She’s a huge fan of the movie as well, though I haven’t seen it.

    1. Thanks, she’ll be so happy to hear that! πŸ™‚ My mom and I definitely have different reading tastes, but I’m really grateful that she’s a reader in general because she’s a major reason behind why I love books so much ❀

    1. Thanks so much!! πŸ™‚ She LOVES Stephen King’s books… her closet is packed with copies of them that she’s found at used book sales over the years. Making this post was so fun!

    1. Yup, my mom is a HUGE fan of Stephen King (clearly) πŸ™‚ I definitely recommend reading The Outsiders (and watching the movie if you’re up for a lot of cheesy effects and acting!).

  5. Oh man, the browser ate my comment D: sorry if double!
I was saying, however, that I might be your mom πŸ˜€ cause it looks so much like a list I would make. I think I should check out the second part, because I haven’t heard of those yet, but the first part tells me I’d like them πŸ™‚

  6. That’s so thoughtful of you to know what your mom’s favorite books are! While I’m not super into Stephen King, I have wanted to check out Flowers in the Attic for awhile. Great post Holly, very timely and relevant. (:

    1. I wish I could say that I knew her favorite books off the top of my head, but I definitely had to ask for specific titles! I figured there would be a lot of Stephen King on her list, though πŸ™‚ Thanks so much!
