Unique Blogger Award

Sometimes little surprises can completely make your day. Every time I’m tagged or nominated in posts like this Unique Blogger Award it reminds me of the loveliness of the bookish blogging community. Thanks so much to Jenna @ Bookmark Your Thoughts for nominating me!!

  • Share the link of the blogger who has shown love to you by nominating you.
  • Answer the questions.
  • In the spirit of sharing love and solidarity with our blogging family, nominate 8-13 people for the same award.
  • Ask them three questions.

What is your favorite Disney film and character (they don’t have to be from the same thing)? Why?

I have so many Disney favorites, but my most recent one is Rapunzel and Tangled in general. I love the songs, the humor, the story, THE LANTERNS– everything!

How do you handle your TBR list when it gets out of control?

Usually by piling more books on top of it *hides in shame.* In actuality, when I notice that my TBR is getting a little out of control (on my Goodreads shelf, for instance) I’ll go through it and weed out books that I’m not really interested in readying anymore. Sometimes I don’t even remember why I added a book to my TBR in the first place!

What is your favorite type of post to blog about?

I love writing fun discussion posts for several reasons: a) they’re a blast to write, b) they spark awesome conversations in the comments section, and c) they help me look at other perspectives on a topic and see arguments from different angles.

  1. Do you have a favorite book genre?
  2. How do you feel about what is considered to be “classic” literature?
  3. What has been your favorite experience blogging so far?

Thanks again to Jenna for nominating me! What are your answers to these questions? What do you think of mine? Let me know in the comments section below!

Yours,

HOLLY

  1. Tangled is so sweet! I really like Moana as well. I love writing discussion posts too, especially the current series, Setting in Stone. I really need to deal with my TBr, especially right now because I got a little library happy.

    1. No problem! πŸ™‚ I’m glad I’m not the only one with this TBR problem! I used to do NetGalley when I first started blogging but quickly realized that I just couldn’t keep up with it at all. Maybe someday I’ll try it again! πŸ™‚

  2. Thank you for the nomination ☺️ I must admit Tangled isn’t a film I’ve watched over and over (I think I only watched it once), but I remember enjoying it! I’m one of those annoying Frozen fans who sings Let It Go every time someone says the word Frozen… but I do love Ratatouille as well! Yeah, I’m the same with my TBR pile, I just buy more books and then end up reading them first and forget about books that have been collecting dust for 2+ yrs on my shelf! I love discussion posts when I have something interesting to talk about (which isn’t often πŸ˜…) but I do also love a good Top Ten Tuesday and doing tag posts because I am a list fanatic! Great post, and thanks again, I can’t wait to do this post ☺️

  4. 1) Favorite genre is Fantasy
    2) I don’t frequently reach for the classics anymore, but I do still enjoy them
    3) The past couple months I’ve become much more active in commenting on other blogs, so the friendships I’m forming are definitely a highlight of the blogging experience. Being a part of the bookish community is wonderful.

    1. Commenting is such a great way to become closer with other bloggers! I definitely have to work on commenting on other blogs more. I’m pretty good with replying to comments, but I don’t always have a lot of time to comment on everyone else’s blogs. New goal! πŸ™‚

      1. In the past couple months I have really tried to comment on about 95% of the blog posts I read. I think that has helped me start really growing my blog to something that honestly amazes me regularly. Plus I love being able to discuss books with others. In real life I have very few people I can talk to about books who actually get it. And I spend my shifts at work mostly by myself. Commenting on other posts and replying to comments on mine is most of the social interaction I get during the week.

  5. Thank you for the kind words! I love the book blogging community as well; I’m honestly so glad I decided to start book blogging πŸ™‚ I LOVE RAPUNZEL!!!!! She is such an adorable character! I get told from my colleague that I’m apparently a lot like Rapunzel, to which I become extremely excited πŸ™‚ I do the same thing with my TBR list…ugh. One day I’ll get more organized…maybe he-he. Thank you for doing the tag/award thing! πŸ™‚

  6. Thanks so much for the tag! πŸ˜€ I also loved Tangled. It’s so pure. Also I was teased for my long hair growing up and people would call me Rapunzel, but the movie makes me feel good about it. πŸ™‚ (I cut my hair pretty short a couple years ago, but I still feel the connection)
