Top Ten Tuesday: Unique Book Titles

Happy Tuesday!! This week for Top Ten Tuesday I’ll be sharing ten unique book titles of books that I’ve read. I really enjoyed making this list because it forced me to think about the books I’ve read a little more objectively in terms of merely what they’re labelled. It’s surprisingly how many book titles we accept unquestionably when in reality they’re actually a bit strange. Naming a book is a big decision, making lists like this one all the more interesting!

What are the most unusual titles out of the books you’ve read? What do you think of the books I’ve mentioned? Let me know in the comments section below!

Yours,

HOLLY

  1. They’re all pretty strange titles, although a lot of strange titles make perfect sense when you read the book! I think the strangest I find on your list is probably ‘The Ocean at the End of the Lane’. It certainly does its job of me wanting to know more. Great post!

    1. It’s such a fun book! It’s super short (it’s actually for kids) so I read it in one sitting and loved every second of it โค The audio book is even better because Neil Gaiman narrates it himself!

    1. Haha that’s so true! John Green’s books have really unusual titles, especially when you consider what they’re about. Looking for Alaska makes sense in regard to geography, but you definitely don’t expect it to be about a girl! ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. It’s nice to hear from someone else who has read and loved The Name of This Book is Secret! โค It's one I rarely see people discussing but they should because it's wonderful ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Oh I love your choices for this week, Holly! Obviously, you know me, so I love that you picked An Abundance of Katherines -it’s such a fun title, isn’t it?!. I don’t know why, but it was really the title that made me want to read The Statistical Probability… It’s a beautiful title for sure ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. I LOVED Memoires of a Teenage Amnesiac! It made me want to get amnesia myself…
HHGTTG! HHGTTG!HHGTTG! The love the quirkiness of the author and wish he wrote more.
A weird title? The Half-Blood Prince. It makes sense considering the story, but still weird.

    1. That’s so true about The Half-Blood Prince! I feel like if I knew nothing about Harry Potter I would probably think it was about a vampire or something ๐Ÿ™‚
