Top Ten Tuesday: Books I Meant to Read in 2017 (But Didn’t)

Happy Tuesday!! As you have probably noticed by now, I’m pretty awful at sticking to TBR lists. Whenever I make one for a specific month, season, or read-a-thon I inevitably end up scrapping the entire thing and just reading whatever seems appealing in that moment. As a result, there are SO MANY books that I mean to read in 2017 but didn’t find the time to do so. Fortunately, this week’s Top Ten Tuesday topic focuses on just that! Here are just a few of the books I meant to read in 2017 but didn’t:

What books were you hoping to read in 2017? What do you think of the books on my list? Let me know in the comments section below!

    1. Thanks so much ❀ ❀ I hope you had a great start to the New Year, too! πŸ™‚ Let me know what you think of Big Little Lies whenever you get around to reading it… super curious to see what you think.

  1. Americanah is amazing! I also loved Big Little Lies (I’ve read a few Liane Moriarty books – and this is by far my favorite). The mini-series is fabulous too! I’ve been meaning to read A God in Ruins since I loved Life After Life, but have been hesitant since a few friends read it and were disappointed. If you read it, let me know what you think!

    1. Definitely! I’ve been hesitant to read God in Ruins as well because I’m afraid it won’t be as great as Life After Life. It’s also been quite a while since I’ve read Life After Life, so the details are a little fuzzy in my memory πŸ™‚ Hopefully it lives up to our expectations!

  2. The Time Traveler’s Wife is a great book! It’s very long and can be confusing and difficult to wrap your head around the whole time travelling thing, but the overall story is amazing, but be aware of sad moments! I’m yet to read Big Little Lies, my mum has just finished watching the TV show and she said it was really good! I’ve read Moriarty before and her writing is incredible, so I should probably pick that up soon! Great list, here’s my TTT:

    1. The TV show is excellent! Usually I read the book before seeing movie/TV adaptations but in this case my friend and I decided to watch the show first. I can’t wait to see what the story is like on the page instead of the screen πŸ™‚

  3. First of all let me say that I really like your graphics! πŸ™‚

I hope you get to read “Game of Thrones” this year. I read the first 5 books back to back two or three years ago because I finally wanted to start watching the TV show and even though I’m not that much into high fantasy it was hard to put the series down (except for book 4 which was pretty boring… :D)!

    1. Thanks so much! πŸ™‚

Glad to hear that you liked Game of Thrones! A lot of people have told me to just watch the TV series and skip the books altogether, but I love fantasy so much that I think I would really enjoy the books. Fingers crossed I get around to reading it this year!

  4. I haven’t heard about many of your books but I want to read Big Little Lies too. And I wanted to read so many more books in 2017 too πŸ™‚

    1. I read Saving Francesca years ago as well, but I’ll probably reread it soon because I don’t really remember much of the details. So many Marchetta books left to read! πŸ™‚

  5. I really need to start Game of Thrones just because I want to see what all the fuss is about πŸ™‚ Your list looks great! Many I haven’t even heard of. And I think I have more fun making the TBRs (looking through all my books) than I do actually sticking to them! New follower πŸ™‚

  6. Good question! I’d like to have read Americanah. My daughter gave me her copy because she loved it. There are so many books I wanted to read last year but didn’t. However, one that I bought at the end of 2016 was Jenny Ackland’s The secret son. I was so cranky that I didn’t read it last year that I took it on holidays a week or so ago and read it!
