Happy Tuesday!! As you have probably noticed by now, I’m pretty awful at sticking to TBR lists. Whenever I make one for a specific month, season, or read-a-thon I inevitably end up scrapping the entire thing and just reading whatever seems appealing in that moment. As a result, there are SO MANY books that I mean to read in 2017 but didn’t find the time to do so. Fortunately, this week’s Top Ten Tuesday topic focuses on just that! Here are just a few of the books I meant to read in 2017 but didn’t:
What books were you hoping to read in 2017? What do you think of the books on my list? Let me know in the comments section below!
Yours,
HOLLY
A Gathering of Shadows is so good! I got the third book for christmas. Hope you can get to these in 2018!

Americanah is amazing! I also loved Big Little Lies (I’ve read a few Liane Moriarty books – and this is by far my favorite). The mini-series is fabulous too! I’ve been meaning to read A God in Ruins since I loved Life After Life, but have been hesitant since a few friends read it and were disappointed. If you read it, let me know what you think!

Definitely! I’ve been hesitant to read God in Ruins as well because I’m afraid it won’t be as great as Life After Life. It’s also been quite a while since I’ve read Life After Life, so the details are a little fuzzy in my memory π Hopefully it lives up to our expectations!

Big Little Lies is really good! And A Gathering of Shadows is my favourite book in the series!
I also still need to read Game of thrones. But I already saw the TV series.
Great TTT π

You have a great list here. Americanah is fascinating. Big Little Lies is really entertaining and the TV adaptation is also very good. The Time Traveller’s Wife is good (I was disappointed in the film adaptation) and Looking For Alibrandi is lovely. Happy reading in 2018!

I really liked the TV adaptation of Big Little Lies, so I’m interested to see what the book is actually like. Usually I read the book first, but this will a nice change!

I am completely the same with TBR lists but they’re so fun to make so I keep making them! I’ve had Americanah on my TBR for ages as well π

It’s good to know I’m not the only one with this TBR problem π

The Time Traveler’s Wife is a great book! It’s very long and can be confusing and difficult to wrap your head around the whole time travelling thing, but the overall story is amazing, but be aware of sad moments! I’m yet to read Big Little Lies, my mum has just finished watching the TV show and she said it was really good! I’ve read Moriarty before and her writing is incredible, so I should probably pick that up soon! Great list, here’s my TTT: https://bookmuffin.wordpress.com/2018/01/09/books-i-didnt-manage-to-read-in-2017/

The TV show is excellent! Usually I read the book before seeing movie/TV adaptations but in this case my friend and I decided to watch the show first. I can’t wait to see what the story is like on the page instead of the screen π

First of all let me say that I really like your graphics! π
I hope you get to read “Game of Thrones” this year. I read the first 5 books back to back two or three years ago because I finally wanted to start watching the TV show and even though I’m not that much into high fantasy it was hard to put the series down (except for book 4 which was pretty boringβ¦ :D)!

Glad to hear that you liked Game of Thrones! A lot of people have told me to just watch the TV series and skip the books altogether, but I love fantasy so much that I think I would really enjoy the books. Fingers crossed I get around to reading it this year!

When you read A Gathering of Shadows, make sure you have A Conjuring of Light ready to go! π Will Looking for Alibrandi be your second Melina Marchetta novel? I know you’ve read Jellicoe Road at least.

I really need to start Game of Thrones just because I want to see what all the fuss is about π Your list looks great! Many I haven’t even heard of. And I think I have more fun making the TBRs (looking through all my books) than I do actually sticking to them! New follower π

Good question! I’d like to have read Americanah. My daughter gave me her copy because she loved it. There are so many books I wanted to read last year but didn’t. However, one that I bought at the end of 2016 was Jenny Ackland’s The secret son. I was so cranky that I didn’t read it last year that I took it on holidays a week or so ago and read it!
