Top Ten Tuesday: Longtime Members of My TBR

Happy Tuesday!! This week’s Top Ten Tuesday topic (hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl) exposes all of those books we’ve been putting off reading for months and months (and years and years…). Today I’m going to share the unread books that have been on my TBR the longest. (Hopefully I’ll be able to read at least a few of these this year! No promises, though…)

Which books have been on your TBR for the longest time? What do you think of the books on my list? Which one of these should read first? Let me know in the comments section below!

Yours,

HOLLY

  1. You should definitely read Gemina or This Savage Song first!! Especially with Obsidio releasing really soon!!!
This Savage Song was one of my favourite reads of last year and Our Dark Duet is probably going to be one of my favourites of this year (well we will see what the rest of the year brings anyway haha).

  2. Station Eleven has been on my TBR for ages too!
Also, unpopular opinion, but I actually didn’t enjoy A Gathering of Shadows too much. It could be because I forced myself to read it since everyone was gushing about it.
Don’t rush yourself to read any of these books haha 🙂.

  3. I liked A Gathering of Shadows infinitely more than the other two books in the series. Usually the middle books are the low points, but this one was quite good.

I think you’ll like the Time Traveler’s Wife. I can’t even imagine the sort of plotting, outlining, and patience it would have taken to write that book. It’s so meticulous.

    Good luck with these! 🙂

    1. Oooh that’s so interesting to hear about A Gathering of Shadows. Usually I like the middle book of trilogies the least as well (except for LOTR) so I’m eager to read the rest of the series now!

    1. That’s definitely true about reading them all closer together… I read the first book a few years ago so I’m thinking that I might reread it (or at least a summary) before continuing on with the rest of the series.

  4. I heard so much about Station Eleven for a while I really wanted to read it but for some reason it keeps falling off my radar! I mean I LOVE the Shades of Magic series so I’m inclined to advise you pick that one up next!

  5. V.E. Schwab’s books… nearly all my friends have read them and recommended them to me, and even though I have wanted to read them, somehow they just keep getting pushed back on my TBR? 🤔 I actually haven’t heard of a lot of books on this bookish list of yours, though, so I’m interested to check these books out to see if I’m interested in reading them 😊 Good luck with your TBR pile! 😋

  7. Station Eleven was a book that was on my TBR for so long and then I got it out of the library and was completely surprised (in a good way) when I actually read it. I was worried the ending would disappoint me but then the ending uplifted the whole book which was very pleasing 🙂

    I hope you enjoy it!

  8. Oh my gosh! I HIGHLY recommend Station Eleven. It was so good. I loved the writing. And also Game of Thrones for the story…though it’s incomplete and we have no idea when it will actually be done.

  9. This list is amazing, Holly 🌸

We have SO many books in common here. A Gathering of Shadows & This Savage Song are both high on my TBR; I know both these series are really loved by the bookish community! I also have Illuminae on my TBR and obviously Gemina if I love the first book 😊

I loved Carry On so much, it reminded me of Harry Potter, a lot and I think you’ll definitely like it. As for The Time Traveller’s Wife – I found it a bit confusing and the plot was really incoherent, I definitely prefer the movie in this instance.

    1. Thanks so much, Michelle! Glad to know I’m not the only one who hasn’t read these 🙂

I’ve heard a lot of mixed things about The Time Traveler’s Wife, so I’m interested to see what I think of it whenever I finally get around to reading it.

  10. Station Eleven & A Game Of Thrones are both awesome reads, I highly recommend them! I really want to read both of those books by V.E Schwab though!

Good choices, feel free to check out my TTT list 🙂
