A little re-introduction

Hello, hello! It’s been a bit since I last posted, so I thought I would do a little re-introduction.

My name is Holly, and I’m a book-loving law student. I studied English literature in undergrad and studied abroad at the University of Oxford for a year. I’m allergic to nuts, hence the name of this blog.

I adore classic literature, and lately I’ve found myself gravitating more towards memoir and nonfiction.

I’ve been blogging for nearly 8 years now, which is so wild to me. This blog has been a part of my life for almost a decade. Throughout college and now law school, I’ve struggled with finding time to blog consistently. Yet every time I get busy and leave it to the wayside, I always miss it. I miss having a space to write out my thoughts and gush about what I’m reading. Most importantly, I miss this amazing community. ❤

Just wanted to write a short note saying that I miss you all and that I’m looking forward to posting a bit more in the near future.

For now, let me know how you’ve been! What’s the best thing you’ve read lately? Is there a certain genre you’ve been gravitating towards in these chaotic times? Any recommendations?

Yours,

HOLLY

  1. Welcome back! Your post are always a great read. I’m a classic literature person myself and Frankinstien is a must read for Halloween. Have any more suggestions on Halloween themed books?!

  3. Welcome back! I love your blog, so I’m excited to see whatever you come up with in the future!

Hm, best thing I’ve read recently? I’ve been reading a lot of middle grade. Three Keys by Kelly Yang is really good!

8 years!! That’s amazing. And it’s like a diary of sorts you can always look back on. I’ve been doing more reading than blog hopping lately. Trying to get all those books crossed off my reading challenge. 😃 One of my favorite recent reads was The Lost Love Song by Minnie Darke. ❤️

  6. Welcome back! Love this blog, also finding it difficult to keep up at the minute and have missed reading what others have been unto. Failosophy, Three Women and Unfollow have all had me gripped over the past couple of weeks – just need to write about them ha, ha, ha xxx

  7. During the past week I was thinking “hmm … I haven’t seen a post from Holly in a long time, I hope she’s doing well” and today I see a post from you! 😀 The past 2 months were quite good for me in terms of reading and blogging, hopefully I’ll continue like this! Looking forward to reading your posts! 🙂

  8. I realized that I’ve been blogging on and off for around eight years as well, if you include the three now-defunct blogs that I had in college (one which I absolutely deleted, and the other two which may just be hanging out in space somewhere).

I follow you on Instagram so I keep up with you there (@ladypalutena), and I wish I had the motivation to read during the pandemic. I started off pretty strong in April/May, and have just fallen by the wayside lately. That might also be because of the wedding stress I’m currently under (26 days to go!), and I’m hoping I’ll be able to drag myself out of this slump soon enough.

  9. Welcome back! I can’t say I’ve been gravitating toward any one genre lately, but I’ve been doing a lot of mood reading—more than usual. I had planned to read spooky books this month, but haven’t managed to read any yet.

I have read so many good things lately! I’ve been really enjoying diving back into older titles like White Teeth by Zadie Smith

  11. Hey Holly!! 😀 Hope you’re doing well.
I’m late to the post but I just finished Mexican Gothic and really liked it. I was going through a slight reading slump, but I think I’m back on track now after that very atmospheric but very engaging read. The suspense had me hooked.
