These flowers are just beginning to bloom in my garden, and it’s such a relief to finally see some life after a horribly relentless winter. It’s not quite as warm as I’d like it to be now that April has come and gone (to be honest, it’s still pretty chilly!) but at least we’re moving in the right direction. While I dealt with the crazy fluctuating temperatures of spring in New England, here are my favorite things that kept my spirits up in the month of April:
WALK THE MOON
In April I attended my first ever concert (besides going to see the Trans-Siberian Orchestra with my mom every Christmas), and it was my favorite band: WALK THE MOON! I saw them perform at the House of Blues in Boston, Massachusetts, and it was honestly an amazing concert. They are fantastic live and their energy, enthusiasm, and optimistic outlook is positively contagious!
Keds
I recently purchased a pair of Keds, and I love them so much! Mine are white with pale yellow stripes on them, and they’re perfect for the spring season. Despite my initial worries, they’re also really comfortable, even when I wear them in a long day at school. The above picture is some of the patterns in the Taylor Swift collection of Keds- aren’t they just adorable? I want them all!
My Wheaton Mug
As you probably know from my recent post about it, I’ve officially decided to attend Wheaton College in Norton, MA in the fall! When I visited for an accepted student day this month I bought this great mug at the store on campus, and I’m in love with it. It’s short and adorable and fits SO MUCH TEA. I also really like the simple design, with the Wheaton logo on the front of it.
The Theory of Everything
If you’ve read my review of The Theory of Everything, then you know how much I absolutely loved this movie. It was by far the best movie I saw in the month of April! Eddie Redmayne was phenomenal in it, as was Felicity Jones. If you’ve ever wanted to know more about Stephen Hawking’s life or see Eddie Redmayne’s amazing acting, then I highly recommend this movie!
Quinoa
Looking for a healthy alternative way to get some more protein and vegetables into your life? Try whipping up a delicious quinoa salad! (Don’t worry, I didn’t take that awesome picture- I found it on the internet!) My mom made quinoa a few times this month, and I love it! She adds in some sautéed onions and mushrooms, and it’s so yummy! It’s sort of the consistency of rice, and not only is it healthy but it’s also gluten-free if you’re into that.
What were your favorite things in April? What do you think of mine? Let me know in the comments section below!
Yours,
HOLLY
