2026 reading plans + tbr

One of my favorite things about planning for a new year is setting some reading-related goals and intentions. Here are some of my bookish goals for 2026:

  1. Read every day, even if it’s just one page. Life can get really busy with work and other commitments. But I’ve learned that I feel most like myself when I’m able to spend even a few minutes reading each day. The best times for me to squeeze this in are while I’m eating breakfast and right before I go to bed.
  2. Accumulate fewer physical books. Not only would this save me some money (and encourage my to use my library more!!) but it will also help with my next goal…
  3. Read the physical books I already own. I have a bad habit of saving my physical books for a rainy day, even though I may be excited to read them in the moment. I should just read them whenever I’m in the mood to so they don’t keep creating little tbr mountains all over floor.
  4. Care less about the number of books I read. No matter how hard I try, I feel like there’s always a little whisper in the back of my mind that is judging the number of books I read. I want to stop putting pressure on myself to read a certain number of books for no reason.

In line with my goals, here are some books that I already own that I’d like to read in 2026:

  • Poetry of Love for Every Day of the Year edited by Jane McMorland Hunter
  • The Invention of Charlotte Brontë by Graham Watson
  • Artful by Ali Smith
  • The Woman Who Borrowed Memories by Tove Jansson, translated by Thomas Teal and Silvester Mazzarella
  • Sula by Toni Morrison
  • Blueberries by Ellena Savage

Do you have reading goals or plans for 2026? What books are you hoping to read this year? I’d love to know.

Wishing you all a happy, bookish 2026! Take care xx

  1. Those sound like some good goals to me! I also try to be conscious of how many books I have. It’s hard to find the space for too many!

  2. I have similar goals for the coming year, especially making sure I read every day, even if it’s just one page. Enjoy, hope you have a great year ☺️
