Sewing… Paper? // Wreck This Journal 5

Wreck This JournalFollow me as I adventure through my copy of Wreck This Journal by Keri Smith.

I haven’t done one of these in quite some time (since March!!) but since it’s summer I finally have time to get crafting again!

This page has such an interesting, fun prompt that I knew I had to do it ASAP. Fortunately I have a sewing kit with a bunch of different colors of thread, so I had all the materials I needed on hand at the ready!

The prompt is simply: Sew this page.

To do this I just threaded a regular sewing needle with some thread and sewed like I would any other material. It’s really easy to do- the hardest part is making sure that the knot on the end is big enough that it won’t slip through the hole in the paper. Otherwise, it could cause the entire design to slip out! To prevent anything from slipping in the future I put little pieces of tape over the knots on the other side of the paper so they would stay put.

I had never sewed anything like this before doing this page, and it was actually a lot of fun! I’ll have to experiment more with working with thread in future pages.

Have you ever worked on a Wreck This Journal? How would you have decorated this page? Let me know in the comments section below!

Yours,

HOLLY
